NLCThe National Liturgical Council has launched a new website, featuring a wealth of resources on a wide range of topics.

After almost two years of preparation, the new site was revealed as part of the national liturgical conference, ‘Pilgrims of Hope: Transformed through Sacrament and Song’, held in Adelaide earlier this month.

Chair of the National Liturgical Council and Director of Liturgy Brisbane Dr Clare Schwantes said she hoped the new website would be of benefit to individuals, parishes, schools and dioceses.

“The website offers a rich and expanding resource for those seeking to learn more about the Catholic faith, especially through the lens of liturgical life,” Dr Schwantes explained.

“With contributions from Australian liturgists across the country, the site includes accessible articles, guidelines and resources that can support parishes, schools and individuals in deepening their understanding of Catholic worship.”

Resources available on the site include material relevant to key liturgical ministries, the seasons of the Church, and current national initiatives. It also includes a list of Australian liturgy contacts as well as details for international liturgical offices.

Other sections of the website include pages on liturgical music, ecumenical prayer, the sacraments, funerals, RCIA, and many others. Each section provides links to relevant local articles, official Church documents and diocesan resources.

Dr Schwantes said the site offered something for everyone.

“We hope this new platform can be a helpful companion for those beginning a journey of faith, as well as those already involved in liturgical ministry or formation,” she said.

The National Liturgical Council advises the Bishops Commission for Liturgy on matters pertaining to the pastoral liturgical life of Australian Catholics, the publishing of liturgical texts and the encouragement of liturgical education initiatives.
