World Meeting of Families - International Videos

International Videos

In preparation for the 10th World Meeting of Families, the Diocese of Rome and the Dicastery for Laity, Family and Life have prepared seven catecheses and seven short films that tell stories of sorrow, rebirth and faith.

The first video is on the theme "Giving a name" and is on the first catechesis "Vocation and family"; and has as its protagonist a midwife in a clinic in Rome.

“Living forgiveness” is the title of the second short film that accompanies the catechesis "Called to holiness" and tells the story of a Roman couple who, despite experiencing a serious marital crisis, manage to rediscover the strength and beauty of their marriage.

“Sharing life” is the title of the third short film that accompanies the catechesis "Nazareth: making love normal" and tells the story of an original experience of community living among different families.

"Welcoming love" is the title of the fourth short film that accompanies the catechesis "We are all children, we are all brothers and sisters".

"Trust in providence" is the title of the fifth short film that accompanies the catechesis "Fathers and mothers". It is the story of a family who, just a few days before Christmas, saw their home devoured by fire.

"Inheriting a passion" is the title of the sixth video catechesis, which centres on grandparents and the elderly.

Prayers of the Faithful

Reader: For the World Meeting of Families happening in June 2022.
We pray that through this global event the Church will renew its dedication to and appreciation for the gift of family life. May the event bring the families of every parish and diocese in the world together around their bishop and may family love be recognised as a vocation and a path to holiness.
We pray to the Lord. Lord, hear our prayer.

Parish Bulletin Notice

World Meeting of Families - 22-26 June 2022
Every three years since 1994, the Church has celebrated the World Meeting of Families in a different city of the world. In 2022 the event will be hosted by the Diocese of Rome with Pope Francis leading special celebrations. However, the Holy Father has also asked that the World Meeting of Families be celebrated concurrently in every diocese of the world in 2022. The idea is for families to gather locally around their bishop to explore and celebrate the theme of “Family love: A vocation and a path to holiness.”

World Meeting of Families 2022

“Family Love: A vocation and a path to Holiness”

LAUNCHING NATIONALLY FROM JUNE 2022

The World Meeting of Families

The 10th World Meeting of Families (WMOF)—organised by Vatican Dicastery for the Laity, Family and Life along with the Diocese of Rome—is intended to highlight family love as a vocation and as a way of holiness, to understand and share the profound and salvific meaning of family relationships in daily life.

After being postponed for a year due to the pandemic, Pope Francis has asked dioceses around the world to make it possible for every family to participate in the WMOF. While Rome will be the main venue for the event on 22–26 June 2022, each diocese around the world will promote local events for its own families and communities based on the theme: “Family love: a vocation and a path to holiness.”

Watch the Pope's message for the 10th World Meeting of Families below.

The WMOF is a great opportunity for Catholics on the local level to renew their commitment to family ministry in solidarity with diocesan communities from around the world and the Diocese of Rome. There will be a number of local events, reflections and moments of prayer to coincide with the gathering in Rome.
